All Hallow's Eve Cakes

All Hallow's Eve cakes are easy to make and are a great alternative way to remember loved ones who have passed over at All Hallow's Eve. They also make a great alternative to sweets and chocolates for trick-or-treating. Here's the recipe and the ritual.

GATHER

 cup (120 millilitres) vegetable oil
112 grms unsweetened baking chocolate (melted)
400 grms granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 tspns vanilla extract
280 grams sifted plain flour
2 tspns baking powder
 tspn salt
228 grams icing sugar (confectionersâ sugar)

Makes about 24-30 cakes.


RITUAL

Bless all your ingredients, utensils and equipment before you begin.

As you mix your ingredients you may wish to think of all your loved ones who have passed over and send them your love. Imbue your cakes with visualisations of happy times shared together.

Mix together the vegetable oil, chocolate and sugar in a large bowl.

Blend in the eggs, one at a time stirring between each addition. Add and mix in the vanilla.

In a separate bowl, mix the sifted flour, baking powder and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the oil mixture and allow to stand for at least 4 hours (or overnight).

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of dough into a ball. Coat each ball in confectionersâ sugar, rolling until covered.

Place the balls about 5 centimetres apart on a greased or baking paper lined baking sheet. As you place the baking sheets in the oven â bless your creation and ask for these offerings to be seen by your loved ones in Spirit.

Bake for 10-12 minutes.

The cakes should be soft and the edges firm. Be careful not to overcook the cakes as they burn easily. Makes about 24-30 cakes.

Enjoy with your family and friends. As you take your first bite send your loving energy across the veil to loved ones.

OK back to what I wanted to talk to you about.  The feedback line is out of the wayâ oh yesâ did you know weâve also changed our podcast hosting?  Probably not I guessâ. itâs a pretty big change though, because it means that youâll get your downloads faster and itâs going to be a lot more reliable.

 The number of people tuning in to our podcasts each month has grown quite a bit lately, and this has been putting our existing web servers under a fair bit of strain and we had to relieve some of the pressure.  Weâve just finished moving all our previous episodes over to Liberated Syndication (or libsyn for short) and weâre very happy with our new podcast home, and Iâm sure you will be too.

 And now for the big announcement â and Iâm really excited about this one.  Weâre just about to trial a new weekly format for the podcast.  now donât worry â weâll still have our longer monthly show each month, still called In Spirit with Ruth Phillips.  And then weâre going to throw in some weekly shows as well.  These slightly shorter shows are going to be called A Moment In Spirit and theyâll have a series of after show interviews, and be more inspirational in nature.

Numerology - Calculate your Life Path Number

The Life Path number is determined by adding all the numbers of your date of birth, by adding the digits together. The Life Path number represents the traits and talents you were born with, and the journey you will take during your life time.

Here's what you do:

1) Convert your birth-month to a number.  If you have a double-digit birth-month number leave it as two digits (i.e. October is 10, November is 11 and December is 12.)

2) Add all the digits of your birth-date together.  For example again, let's take James' birth date:  19 August 1970 = 19081970).  Lay out all the numbers as follows:

1 + 9  + 0 + 8 + 1+ 9 + 7 + 0 = 17

When you add all these numbers together you'll get the number 17

To convert this number to your life path number add these numbers together: 1 + 7 = 8

James' Life Path number is 8.

Numerology: How to calculate your Day Born Number

In this episode Gale Pickles talks about calculating your day-born number.  Now if you'd like to do this yourself here's how you do it!

Take your day of birth,  if you are born on 1st to the 9th of the month then it's really easy.  You are that number.  If you're born on a higher number then you need to do some calculating.  Say you are born on the 23rd of the month.  You simply add the two numbers of your day of birth 2+3 which gives you the Day Born number of 5.

If you're born on say, the 29th of the month, then you would add 2+9 which gives you 11, then you add 1+1 which gives you a Day Born number of 2.  It's that easy.
